MM series composite plates  are made  of certain kind of  metal or non-metal materials and some kind s of special resins, different blend of the these material will  resulted in different hardness therefore different lapping/polishing performance can be achieve.   Compared with pure metal or pure non-metal plate, the composite plates optimize the hardness and working mechanisms which  can be shown in surface finish,  lapping efficiency and flatness control.   For example,  for two plates, one is cast iron plate, and one is resin-iron plates, if they are using the same size of abrasive to do the lapping, the the resin-iron plate will have a shining surface with Ra value of less than half of the  parts lapping on cast iron plate , while the stock removal rate can double.
